每年的四月三十號是國際爵士樂日，這個活動的發起單位是聯合國教科文組織(UNESCO)，今年的國際爵士樂日慶祝活動在澳洲墨爾本舉行。
爵士樂發源於十九世紀末的美國奧爾良黑人社區，從1920年以來，一直廣受歡迎。今年的慶祝活動請來了許多知名爵士樂巨星，下面是國際爵士樂日的官方網頁:

Today we celebrate jazz and its unique capability to bring people of all backgrounds together.
Jazz is more than music. Born in African American community of New Orleans, jazz embodies the values of freedom, dialogue and peace. It brings people together and gives voice to the struggles and aspiration of millions of people. It is the perfect vehicle for expressing the values of UNESCO.
Every year on April 30th, International Jazz Day, thousands of schools, clubs and theatres across the globe celebrate jazz and share its message with future generations. UNESCO encourages you to be part in this celebration. to learn about this rich art form and to embrace its spirit of unity, hope and free expression.
